Visit Bohemia, Czech Republic on a roadtrip through Prague and beyond
I sat on a cafe terrace overlooking the city of Prague, drinking a Czech lager as crisp as the spring air. I had never been further from home, but I felt comfortable here.
This was my second stop on a road trip through Czechia, which I had been planning and anticipating for years. During my travels, I found myself in three distinct but significant destinations in the region known as Bohemia. This area is a remnant of an ancient kingdom that has seen its fair share of rulers, including—but not limited to—the Holy Roman Empire, the Habsburg Monarchy, and the warring Austro-Hungarian Empire. But even as the region changed hands, it still managed to retain its core cultural identity. Now, it’s an enchanting place that welcomes visitors to explore its old towns and pastoral landscapes.
